Schilling & 38 Studios
Schilling moved his video game company, 38 Studios, from Massachusetts to Rhode Island.
The company went bankrupt after two years.
In July, RI State Police Superintendent Colonel Steven O'Donnell as well as Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Kilmartin said that they would be no indictments in the 38 Studios criminal investigation.
"It appears the poor economic decisions contributed to the deal, and it was done with the hopes of bringing a celebrity and hundreds of jobs," said O'Donnell. "It is our duty to uncover the facts. In order to prosecute any individuals, we have to establish probable cause -- we have found no probable cause that a crime was committed. A bad deal doesn't always lead to indictments."
The investigation has taken four years to complete.
Schilling in the Media
Schilling worked at ESPN as a baseball analyst until April, he was fired after an anti-transgender post on Facebook.
"ESPN is an inclusive company. Curt Schilling has been advised that his conduct was unacceptable and his employment with ESPN has been terminated," ESPN said in a statement at the time of Schilling's firing.
Prior to that, ESPN suspended Schilling and removed him from Little League World Series coverage after he posted a tweet comparing Muslims to Nazis.
