FROM: RI COMMISSIONER OF EDUCATION, RI BOARD OF EDUCATION, GOVERNOR GINA RAIMONDO, JOHN HOPKINS UNIVERSITY, PARENTS IN PROVIDENCE, STUDENTS IN PROVIDENCE, and WALL STREET JOURNAL
As a result of your leadership of the Providence Public Schools over the past five years, the State of Rhode Island is moving forward with the plan to take the schools away from you as by every measure you are not competent in managing the schools.
So, please read this carefully below. And follow the direction:
Please do not make pronouncements about closing charter schools
Please do not make public or private comments about expanding or increasing funding to certain schools
Please do not hold press conferences about “innovative” programs developed under your leadership
Please do not hold cleanups as your track record in maintaining the schools has been rated as “poor”
It is in the best interest of the children of Providence that you appropriately step aside and focus of areas of management in Providence that better align with your skill sets.
Planning parties is a unique skill set, and other than some issues relating to shootings and scheduling mishaps, you have proven highly effective as serving as the PVDFest party planner.
Thank you for your attention to this memo. Please stay more than 150 feet away from all Providence public schools.
