Man Arrested For Taking “Upskirt” Photos at Providence Walmart - Faces Felony Voyeurism Charge

A man was arrested at the Walmart on Silver Spring Street in Providence for taking photos up a woman’s dress, GoLocal has learned.

The woman was reportedly unaware she was being targeted. 

It marks the second major crime reported at the Providence Walmart over the weekend.

GoLocal first reported, a man who was working at the location was shot and killed by a colleague early Sunday morning

 

Camera Incident 

Shortly after 4 PM on Sunday afternoon, police on detail at Walmart said an employee monitoring security cameras saw a man taking photos under a shopper’s dress. 

The officer on duty said he saw the suspect bend down and take photos under a woman’s clothing. 

Police approached the suspect — later identified as Steven DiBenedetto, age 35 — and placed him under arrest.

He is facing one felony charge of video voyeurism.
