The field vying to replace outgoing Congressman David Cicilline is getting even deeper.

In February, Cicilline announced that he is stepping down from his seat in Congress this spring to take over the position as the head of the Rhode Island Foundation and collect a salary of $650,000 for the group dedicated to supporting those in need.

The Daily Beast reported Sunday that Gabe Amo, a Rhode Island native and former staffer to Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo, is leaving his current post as special assistant to President Joe Biden in anticipation of announcing a run.

In the West Wing, Amo served as deputy director of intergovernmental affairs, acting as Biden’s primary liaison to local elected officials, reported the Daily Beast.
