Moving Truck at Commerce Secretary Raimondo’s Providence Home

The former Rhode Island Governor has been splitting time between Washington, D.C. and Providence since joining United States President Joe Biden’s cabinet on March 2.
The house on Morris Avenue where Raimondo has lived with her husband and two children is valued at $1.3 million by Zillow. They purchased the house for $471,500 in 2013.
Raimondo and her family also have a second home in South County.
First elected as Rhode Island’s first female Governor in 2014, Raimondo won a second time in 2018.
“I love Rhode Island and I’m ready to keep working with you to bring about the change that people need and deserve,” said Raimondo in announcing her reelection bid in May 2018.
Her departure prior to serving a full second term saw the ascension of then-Lt. Governor Dan McKee to now the role of Governor.

Recently, Raimondo reportedly took advantage of a “little-known” federal law to avoid “huge tax hits,” according to reports.
“Members of President Biden's Cabinet are able to punt paying taxes as they divest their assets to avoid conflicts of interest when they enter into public service, thanks to a little-known provision of federal law,” reported Fox News last week.
“Under Section 2634 of federal elections law sits a unique provision to help soften the financial blow of new administration officials suddenly selling off assets: certificates of divestiture,” they continued.
