There is snow - and sleet - in the forecast for Rhode Island starting Saturday afternoon into Sunday, according to the National Weather Service

 

Saturday:

A chance of snow after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. Calm wind is coming south around 6 mph in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation is 30%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

 

Saturday Night:
Freezing rain, possibly mixed with snow and sleet. Low around 27. East wind 5 to 9 mph. The chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 2 to 4 inches is possible.

 

Sunday
Rain, possibly mixed with freezing rain and sleet, becomes all rain after 8 am. High near 41. East wind 8 to 10 mph, becoming southeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100%. New sleet accumulation of less than a half inch is possible.

 

Sunday Night
Rain before 2 am, then a slight chance of snow between 2 am and 3 am. Low around 23. West wind 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
