NEW: Arson Fire at Pearl Restaurant to be Investigated by Providence Fire Dept, ATF

The Providence Fire Department (PFD) has announced that its Arson Squad, in conjunction with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are conducting a joint investigation into an arson fire that occurred early morning on December 31, 2014 at the former Pearl Restaurant located at 393 Charles Street Providence, RI.

According to the PFD, the Arson Squad and ATF investigators determined that the fire, which caused $2 million in damages, was intentionally set using a flammable liquid.  

More information will be forthcoming Monday, when representatives from ATF and the PFD will hold a joint press conference 1:30 p.m. in front of the formal Pearl at 393 Charles Street to discuss the case.
