NEW: Dumpster Fire Closes Downtown Knead Donuts, Damages Pot au Feu Exterior

According to Knead, the damage will keep the building closed for at least a day.
The business continues to be operational however as donuts are currently being made at their central location at Cromwell Street -- and available for pick-up (with pre-order) on the weekend at their East Side location at 135 Elmgrove Avenue.

But the universe can kiss my a--, and we're gonna keep making donuts. (not here) #dumpsterfire," said Knead Donuts, who has been offering online orders for donuts during the coronavirus crisis.
Knead's Adam Lastrina said he hopes the kitchen at the downtown location can be reopened shortly for members of the Providence Kitchen Collaborative who currently use it.
Lastrina said that the donut pick-up business has been steady throughout the coronavirus crisis.
"We know you don't 'need' donuts during the apocalypse, but I guess you kind of do!" said Lastrina, who said the Knead will be offering pick-up service on Easter, and will "take it week by week" moving forward as to the weekend pick-up offerings.
Pot au Feu Open
Pot au Feu's Bob Burke said the damage to his building was limited mostly to the exterior.
"We're still open, and focusing on getting meals out to shut-ins and hospital workers during the day," said Burke of working with a local church group to provide "dinner for two," three days a week, for those on the front lines, and in need.
In addition, Pot au Feu is still open for pick-up dinners.
"We are open and moving forward -- we won't let this stop us," he said.
