Four-Year-Old Boy Drowns in North Providence

North Providence Police are investigating the drowning of a child that occurred on Tuesday. 

According to police, at approximately 3:15 PM, North Providence Police along with the Fire Department were called to 6 Cassisi Court for a report of a child who had been pulled from a swimming pool. 

The child had been underwater for an undetermined amount of time, say police

Upon arrival, officers observed members from the North Providence Fire Department performing CPR on an unresponsive 4-year-old male. 

The child was immediately transported to Hasbro Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. 

An investigation is underway regarding the incident.  

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family during their time of grief," said police.
