On Tuesday, Lapatin said that police were called to Magnolia Street in Olneyville shortly after 8:30 AM on Monday.

Construction workers had found a body underneath an object at the location.

Lapatin said police have learned that Cortez had not been in touch with his family for several days.

Police did not list cause of death on Tuesday.

“We don’t believe [the homicied] happened on site — we think it might have been placed there after he was deceased,” said Lapatin. “We’re moving along with the investigation but there’s a lot to look at and go over.”
