NEW: RI Treasurer-Elect Magaziner Announces Two New Hires

Treasurer-Elect Seth Magaziner announced today the hiring of two key members of his Treasury staff. 

Patrick Marr will serve as Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Treasurer for Operations. Marr currently serves as a Project Manager in the Office of Digital Excellence for the State of Rhode Island. In his new role, Marr will oversee the Unclaimed Property and Crime Victims Compensation Fund Programs as well as Information Technology, Human Resources, and the Central Business Office.

Lammis Vargas will serve as Director of Unclaimed Property. Vargas is currently the Dean of Operations at Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy Charter School. Vargas is a graduate of Rhode Island College and is pursuing a Masters in Public Administration at Roger Williams University.

“I am extremely proud of the caliber of the people who will serve Treasury with me when I get sworn in next week," Magaziner said about his new additions. 

Along with the new hires, Magaziner will be retaining Ann-Marie Fink as Chief Investment Officer and name Iwona Rusek Director of the Crime Victims Compensation Fund Program after she most recently served as Acting Director.
