NEW: School Bus Hits Car in Downtown Providence

An East Providence School Bus from the bus company Ocean State Transit struck a car near the Turk’s Head Building in downtown Providence.

The bus was trying to make a right turn onto Exchange Street when it hit a car parked on the side of the road.

“I saw the bus trying to make a turn and then I heard a grinding noise. As the bus kept moving, the back of the car lifted off the ground before the bus stopped,” an eyewitness told GoLocalProv at the scene.

One Providence Police officer was on the scene.
