Teenage Girl Arrested Following Kennedy Plaza Fight

Providence Police responded to a fight between students in Kennedy Plaza after school on Wednesday. 

A juvenile female was arrested. 

It marks the latest episode of violence among youth in the central downtown location.

In September, video obtained by GoLocal showed a large-scale brawl among students; multiple juveniles were arrested. 

 

About Wednesday’s Incident 

According to police, officers were on patrol in Kennedy Plaza due to the recent fights in the area following school dismissal.

Shortly before 4 PM on Wednesday, police say the saw two juvenile females in a physical altercation with a large crowd beginning to gather. 

Police said they approached the scene and bystanders began to disperse, and that one of the juvenile females fled the scene.

A 15-year-old girl was arrested and taken to Central Station to be turned over to the Youth Services Bureau for charging.
