Providence Police Identify Latest Homicide Victim — Seek Public's Help Locating Suspect

Providence Police are asking the public for any information as to who they say is the suspect in the city’s latest homicide.

As GoLocal reported on Monday, a man who was stabbed in the city on Friday died from his injuries.

It is the city’s 9th homicide of the year.

Now, police have released the following information — and are seeking the public’s help. 

On Friday, September 20, 2024 at approximately 3:48 PM Providence Police were dispatched to the intersection of Chalkstone Avenue and Zone Street for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, a male subject identified as Brian Clements, age 34, was located by police on Chalkstone Avenue suffering from an apparent stab wound to the chest. 

Clements was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by Providence Fire Department Rescue for treatment. Earlier [Monday], the victim succumbed to his injuries, resulting in the 9th homicide in Providence this year.  Police are seeking assistance from the public to locate the male subject responsible.
