Providence Hookah Lounge Closed by City After “Conducting Business in Unsafe & Improper Manner”

A Providence hookah lounge has been shut down after police said it found it was conducting business in an "unsafe and improper manner."

The move to revoke the license of Passions Lounge on Plainfield Street came Thursday by the Providence Board of Licenses -  following a shooting outside the location in May.

According to police, Passions Lounge had 17 violations on its record.

The establishment can appeal the decision at the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulations.
