A man was shot in Providence overnight.

The shooting reportedly occurred in Olneyville.

About Incident

Shortly after 2 AM on Saturday, police responded to Rhode Island Hospital for a report of a gunshot victim. 

The victim, a male in his 20s, was shot in his leg and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. 

According to police, the victim said had been on Plainfield Street when the shooting took place.

The incident was tied to the Passion Lounge, located at 103 Plainfield St, Providence. The city has ordered the Passion Lounge to be closed for 72 hours.

 

Detectives are currently investigating.
