Rhode Island Restaurants & Bars Can Now Include Wine and Beer in To-Go Orders
You can now get wine and beer to go from restaurants in RIOn Friday, Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo announced that she would allow restaurants and bars to include wine and beer with to-go orders during the coronavirus crisis.
Raimondo signed Executive Order 20-08 (see below) after indicating she would do so at a press conference.
"The Governor has just agreed to our request that we be able to sell wine with takeout- let’s raise a glass to all who helped make it happen!! Merci!!" said Pot au Feu owner Bob Burke on Facebook.
"Go to potaufeuri.com to order dinner for a marvelous Saturday night - with wine! Special offers on our best wines... check tomorrow!" he continued.
Thirsty Beaver owner and Cranston City Councilman Ed Brady applauded the move, posting the following:
"THANK YOU Gina Raimondo, Dale Venturini, The RI Hospitality Association and all of our local leadership for listening to the hospitality industry and the supporting the service industry! We appreciate your transparency though this epidemic and want to thank you all for continuing to listen to small business owners and the public throughout this process. This will allow us to sell our inventories to the public to pay the mortgage or rent this month. It will continue to get worse before it gets better but we have to appreciate our small victories from this virus. #OneDayAtATime #BeerAndWineToGo #StockUp #Thankful"
