RIDOT to Close Exit 18 Off I-95 South Friday Night Due to Work on Oxford Street Bridge

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) announced that exit 18 off I-95 South will be closed Friday night.

The exit will be closed beginning at 8 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, with all southbound lanes at the Oxford Street Bridge shifted to the left.

“RIDOT first announced these changes earlier this month as part of the $10.8 million Oxford Street Bridge rehabilitation project. The traffic patterns provide a safe work zone so crews can rapidly replace the bridge deck. They will change every two to three weeks as RIDOT installs new deck sections one lane at time. All split-lane configurations are scheduled to be complete by late September,” writes RIDOT in their press release.
