The movie was made by Independent film director Brett Davey who took a different approach when planning his latest movie. He asked his sons Timothy and Van — aged 9 and 12 — to star in the movie, help develop the story, and recruit their friends as actors. The result is “The Return of Brute Force”, Davey’s fifth feature film.

"The kids at Scarpa Elementary School are faced with two big problems: a group of bullies called “Brute Force” are terrorizing the student population and an evil corporation known as Paul’s Mart wants to buy the school and turn it into a charter school that teaches the kids nothing but retail skills.

Paul Swilton, the owner of Paul’s Mart, is a graduate of Scarpa Elementary School and founded the original Brute Force more than 30 years ago. He will use bribery, extortion, and a good old fashioned punch in the nose to get his way! Can the kids stop his twisted plan and defeat the new Brute Force group? They will definitely try!

At the age of 34, former New Orleans Saints defensive back Steve Gleason was diagnosed with ALS and given a life expectancy of two to five years. Weeks later, Gleason found out his wife, Michel, was expecting their first child. A video journal that began as a gift for his unborn son expands to chronicle Steve’s determination to get his relationships in order, build a foundation to provide other ALS patients with purpose, and adapt to his declining physical condition—utilizing medical technologies that offer the means to live as fully as possible.

Gleason is not only about Steve’s resilience but also the complications of love between fathers and sons, and husbands and wives, in the face of a devastating illness. The film is bolstered by its subject’s unwavering candor and surprising humor. Told through the lens of an NFL icon, the film grapples with the nature of heroism as Steve recasts his legacy into something quite antithetical to—but no less inspirational than—his on-field shows of strength and dominance.

The world premiere of the movie "The Return of Brute Force"

The movie was made by Independent film director Brett Davey who took a different approach when planning his latest movie. He asked his sons Timothy and Van — aged 9 and 12 — to star in the movie, help develop the story, and recruit their friends as actors. The result is “The Return of Brute Force”, Davey’s fifth feature film.

"The kids at Scarpa Elementary School are faced with two big problems: a group of bullies called “Brute Force” are terrorizing the student population and an evil corporation known as Paul’s Mart wants to buy the school and turn it into a charter school that teaches the kids nothing but retail skills.

Paul Swilton, the owner of Paul’s Mart, is a graduate of Scarpa Elementary School and founded the original Brute Force more than 30 years ago. He will use bribery, extortion, and a good old fashioned punch in the nose to get his way! Can the kids stop his twisted plan and defeat the new Brute Force group? They will definitely try!

(add)ventures received two Boston/New England Emmy Awards at the 39th Annual Boston/New England Emmy Awards Ceremony for a Public Service Announcement (PSA) it directed, filmed and edited for the Prostate Cancer Foundation in 2015.

The PSA featured boxing legend and five-time heavyweight champion of the world Evander Holyfield in his natural element – the boxing ring – as he tells his story of perseverance in the ring and life, to encourage African American men to get regularly checked for prostate cancer. The spot, filmed at Balletto’s Boxing Gym in Providence,earned an Emmy for both “Public Service Single Spot” and “Editor Short Form” from The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
