RIPEC Nominations for 45th Annual Public Service Awards Now Open

RIPEC is looking to recognize the very best in public service.

This is the opportunity to shine a light on unsung heroes who have made outstanding contributions to public service.

Previous winners include Peter Merino then of the state budget office and now the CEO of Neighborhood Health Plans; Col. Hugh Clements of the Providence Police; and former top healthcare expert Marie Ganin.

RIPEC invites nominations of "worthy individuals who have demonstrated superior performance in serving Rhode Island citizens."

Be sure to submit complete nomination forms by August 30.

Award recipients will be recognized at RIPEC’s 78th annual meeting on Monday, November 1, 2021.

 

THE ROBERT M. GOODRICH DISTINGUISHED PUBLIC SERVICE AWARD will recognize an outstanding local employee; and THE GARY S. SASSE DISTINGUISHED PUBLIC SERVICE AWARD will recognize an outstanding state employee.

The 45th annual award recipients will be recognized at RIPEC's annual meeting on Monday, November 1, 2021.

Nominees for awards must have at least  ve years of non-elective, full-time public service in Rhode Island state and/or local government. The nominee's position is not required to be part of a civil service or merit system, and both non-supervisory and supervisory personnel are eligible.

The qualifications of nominees will be reviewed by a Selection Committee, which will determine the recipients. Please be sure to include in your nomination specific examples to showcase the accomplishments of the nominee, including their:

• Sustained superior performance in the service of Rhode Island citizens

• Fiscal responsibility and business acumen

• Record of integrity and devotion to public service

• Personal initiative and resourcefulness

Nominations must be received by Friday, August 30, 2021. Please include your nominee’s:

• Name

• Current position

• History of public service

• Significant accomplishments
