Scituate Police Announces Death of Sergeant

The Scituate Police Department announced that a Sergeant on the force has died. 

Chief Eric Rollinson released the following statement: 

"It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the tragic loss of a Scituate Police Department member.

The untimely death of Sgt. Jason Riquier, a 23-year veteran of the Scituate Police Department and a United States Marine Corps veteran was reported on January 13, 2025.

We are all struggling with the tragic loss of Sgt. Riquier, who was a valued and respected member of our Scituate Police family. 

We want to thank our community, and our law enforcement partners across the state for the support they have offered our department and Sgt. Riquier’s family during this time.

We ask that you respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time."
