Pagliarini Joins Machado

Machado Consulting, Inc. has announced the hiring of John (“J.R.”) Pagliarini as its Rhode Island Business Development Executive.

“We are very excited to have J.R. join our team and lead our efforts as we expand into Rhode Island,” said Helder Machado, CEO of Machado Consulting. “J.R. is a trusted and respected community leader who brings decades of experience working in government, health care and higher education. We are certain that he will bring immediate recognition and success to Machado through his work in Rhode Island.” 

Established in 2001 in Worcester, MA, Machado is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) founded on the idea that high-quality IT solutions and support should be "more than a proactive tool that protects your business."

Pagliarini was most recently Manager of Business Development and Labor Relations for United Way of  Rhode Island. Prior to that he served as Chief of Staff to the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation; Chief of Staff and Senior Executive Advisor to Mayor Angel Taveras; Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Donald  Carcieri; State Director for United States Senator Lincoln Chafee; Associate Commissioner of Higher Education; Director of Government Relations for United Healthcare of New England; Communications  Director and Community Development Director in the City of Warwick; and Press Office Manager and  Policy Associate to Governor Edward DiPrete. He was also president of two Rhode Island startup companies.

J.R. is currently chairman of the Rhode Island Small Business Loan Fund Corporation and is active in the  state’s Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (“PanCAN”). He has served on a multitude of other non-profit  organizations including the Providence Performing Arts Center, MENTOR RI, The Natasha Love  Foundation, AFL-CIO Executive Board, Providence Foundation, Providence Plan, Greater Providence  Chamber of Commerce, Amos House Capital Campaign, and many others. He holds a master's degree  from The George Washington University, a bachelor's degree from Fairfield University and is a graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School.
