Providence Police Respond to Teenager Shot

An 18-year-old shooting victim was taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence overnight — one day after a double shooting homicide in the city.

Shortly after 1 AM Sunday morning, Providence police were called to Hasbro Children’s Hospital on Eddy Street for a report of a shooting victim. 

The victim — an 18-year-old male — had a gunshot wound to his leg. 

He had been reportedly sitting in the passenger side of vehicle when he was shot.

The victim was transported to the hospital by the driver of the vehicle. 

Police have no additional information at this time; detectives are currently investigating. 

 

Two Shot and Killed This Weekend

As GoLocal reported Saturday morning: 

Two people were killed overnight in Providence.

According to police, a man and woman were shot while sitting in a vehicle.

The victims were found on Hathaway Street, off Elmwood and Park Avenues on the Cranston border.
