Shooting Where Arrest Took Place Day Before

As GoLocal reported on Sunday

Police on patrol in the area of Tingley Street — off of Harris Avenue — said they encountered a gathering of approximately 100 vehicles and people partying shortly after midnight Sunday morning.

According to police, when they approached, vehicles began to drive off — including a Honda Civic — at high rates of speed.

Police said they activated their lights and pulled the vehicle over, at which time the occupants displayed nervous and panicked behavior.

The occupants of the vehicle were removed and searched; the front seat passenger, Jordan Torres, age 21, was found to be in possession of a gun with live cartridges in the magazine, according to police.

A search of the gun’s serial number found it to be stolen out of Connecticut.

Police confiscated the gun; Harris is facing multiple gun charges.
