VIDEO: Road Rage Incident Leads to Arrest of Rhode Island Man

GoLocal has obtained footage of the road rage incident in Warwick that led to the arrest of a Coventry man. 

The incident, which occurred on East Avenue, occurred with Peter Grossi of Coventry allegedly attacked a 19-year-old stopped at a red light. 

Gross was arrested and charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct.

Sarah Sousa Stevens, the mother of the 19-year-old driver, shared a bystander video of the incident that was sent to her.

Stevens shared the following: 

“I really deliberated as to whether or not I should share this video. Yesterday, Alex was involved in a road rage incident. Some unstable man got out of his car at a red light and attacked Alex punching him repeatedly through the car window. Alex’s 'crime' was flipping the guy off because the guy was tailgating him. 

My reason for sharing the video is twofold. First and foremost, I am hoping this post reaches the women who helped my son. One woman called 911. Another recorded the incident for the police and another one tried to intervene. I cannot adequately express my gratitude to them, but I am beyond thankful. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart for your quick thinking and helping my son. 

My second reason for sharing this video is in hopes that it gets shared and reaches the family, and colleagues of this extremely unstable person who thought it was okay to attack a teenager. I want the people in his life to know what kind of a deranged individual he really is. Alex is pressing charges, but I’m sure that whatever the punishment is it won’t be enough.”
