Man Reports Being Shot at in Road Rage Incident After Leaving Atwells Avenue Restaurant

A man told Providence police he was shot at in a possible instance of road rage in the city on Wednesday night. 

According to the victim, windows on his truck were shattered from the gunfire.

About Incident 

Shortly after 10 PM on Wednesday, police responded to Admiral Street for a 911 call.

Police say they met with a male victim who said someone had tried to kill him after he had left Mi Guatemala on Atwells Avenue a short while earlier. 

The victim told police upon leaving the restaurant and getting on Route 95, another vehicle followed him and acted aggressively toward him on the highway.

Police said the victim told them both vehicles got off the highway onto Admiral Street, when he heard loud bangs over music he was playing on his radio. 

The victim said he stopped his truck and saw the rear passenger windows had been shattered. 

According to police, they observed the vehicle to have numerous possible bullet holes. 

The victim was able to provide a description of the vehicle that had followed him to the police.

Providece detectives are currently investigating.
