New numbers from the RI Department of Labor and Training on Tuesday report that 56,000 Rhode Islanders have filed for unemployment or temporary disability insurance.

The numbers show that in less than a month Rhode Island has transformed from near-record low unemployment to now what are record layoffs.

On Monday, Raimondo announced 23 news cases of coronavirus in the state bringing the total to 106.

Raimondo also unveiled an announcement about domestic travel, saying she will sign an executive order requiring all domestic flights returning to Rhode Island -- in addition to international travelers -- to self-quarantine for 14 days.
