This week’s FBI files on Ray Patriarca and the New England Crime unveils that in 1961, J. Edgar Hoover elevated “Hoodlums” like Meyer Lansky, Sam Gancana and Patriarca as being high priority targets of the Bureau.
No longer was the Coin-O-Matic just a retail spot of Atwells Avenue — Hoover and the FBI were focused of Patriarca.
In addition, the FBI efforts are focused on trying to turn Patriarca allies against the head of New England, including one of his closest men.
