Helena Foulkes Buys Home in First Congressional District Ahead of Campaign

Helena Foulkes, the former President of CVS and who lost narrowly in the  Democratic primary for governor, appears to be gearing up for a run for the soon-to-be-open first congressional seat.

GoLocal has learned she has purchased a home on Providence’s East Side.

Foulkes presently lists her residence in Narragansett on Ocean Road. Her waterfront home in Narragansett has eight bedrooms and is estimated to be worth $6.5 million.

Cicilline to Resign and Special Election in Summer of Fall

David Cicilline announced this week that he would be resigning his seat in Congress in order to take the top position of at the Rhode Island Foundation.

Foulkes grew up on Providence’s East Side, and for decades she and her husband lived in College Hill.

Candidates for congressional seats are not required to live in the district to run. Newly-elected Seth Magaziner moved into the district midway through his campaign in 2022 after months of criticism.
