RI National Organization for Women Endorses Euer for Senate District 13

The Rhode Island National Organization for Women (RI NOW) has endorsed Dawn Euer in the Special Election for the open senate seat in District 13 vacated by Teresa Paiva Weed. 

"We are pleased to endorse our former board member Dawn Euer, and are thrilled she is running to represent Newport and Jamestown in Senate District 13. Dawn has proven results for positive change in her community and across Rhode Island. She shares our vision and we know she will represent her constituents well!,” said RI NOW President Rebecca Kislak. 

The endorsement is the first one issued by any group for the upcoming special election.

"I am committed to the advancement of women and creating an economy that works for everyone in my community and across the state. I am honored and excited to receive RI NOW's endorsement of my candidacy for state senate,” said Euer. 

Senate Seat 13 Candidates 

Euer is one of four people running for the vacated senate seat. 

Newport City Councilor John Florez announced on March 23 that he was going to run for the seat and joined GoLocal LIVE on March 24 to talk about it. 

Just a couple of days later on March 27, Progressive Democrat David Allard announced that he would also run for the seat. 

Most recently on April 19, Republican Mike Smith announced on GoLocal LIVE that he would also be running for the Senate seat. He joined GoLocal LIVE to discuss it. 

The election will be held in August.
