Bryant Falls to Dartmouth 76-59, Open NEC Play on Saturday

Bryant had an early 12-7 lead with 13 minutes left to play in the first half and then led 17-16 with eight minutes left in the half before the Big Green went on an 10-2 run to go up 26-19 and they would not look back.
GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTDartmouth would lead 35-25 at the half and in the second half, the Bulldogs were not able to get closer then six points at 47-41 with 12 minutes left in the game, however the Big Green would push the lead right back up to double figures and cruise to the win.
Joe O'Shea led the Bulldogs with 12 points in the game on four of eight shooting from the field while Dyami Starks and Hunter Ware followed up with 10 points each.
Connor Boehm led Dartmouth and all scorers with 20 points while teammate Alex Mitola added 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds.
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, January 3 when they visit LIU Brooklyn in their first conference game of the season. Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m.

Five Takeaways From Bryant's 76-59 Loss to Dartmouth
Joe O'Shea
A positive for the Bulldogs in the loss is that someone other then Dyami Starks led them in scoring and it came in the form of Joe O'Shea.
O'Shea had his best game of the season, leading Bryant with 12 points on 4 of 8 shooting from the field. O'Shea went to the free throw line four times and made all four of his shots
O'Shea also added six rebounds and two assists to his stat line.
Bryant will be in good shape come conference play if they can get consistent production from O'Shea or anybody else not named Starks, who has been great all year.
Hunter Ware
Bryant got 21 pointsoff their bench against Dartmouth and freshman Hunter Ware had 10 of them. Ware played 32 minutes and went 3 for 8 from the field, including 2 of 5 from three-point land.
Ware also added one assist to his stat line. A nice showing for Ware, one area Bryant could have really used him is in the rebonding department. Ware didn't have one rebound in his time on the floor.
Dyami Starks
Not a great afternoon for Dyami Starks.Starks had ten points but on only 3 of 12 shooting from the field including just one 1 for 5 from beyond the three-point arc.
Starks also led the Bulldogs with four turnovers in the game, Bryant as a team only had nine turnovers. Dartmouth ahd only 10 points off the Bryant turnovers.
Rebounding
Joe O'Shea led Bryant with six rebounds but Dan Garvin followed up with five. Overall, the Bulldogs got smoked on the boards, losing the battle 43-30 to Dartmouth.
What really hurt is that the Big Green pulled down 13 offensive rebounds which helped lead to 15 second chance points.
Bryant only had eight offensive rebounds on the other end.
NEC Play Begins
The Bulldogs have had a rough go of it in the non-conference schedule going 3-6 and having scoring struggles at times. In this game against Dartmouth, Bryant only shot 35 percent from the field and 22 percent from three-point land.
Starting on Saturday, the Bulldogs get to hit the refresh button as conference play begins against LIU Brooklyn.
