Fister Gives up 1 Hit, Red Sox Roll Cleveland 9-1

Boston Red Sox pitcher Doug Fister gave up only one hit while Eduardo Nunez had five RBIs as the Boston Red Sox cruised past the Cleveland Indians 9-1 on Tuesday night in Cleveland.

Foster gave up one run on one hit while walking two and striking out six in his third appearance against the Indians in four starts. Fister is now 3-6 on the season.

The Red Sox improve to 72-53 on the season and maintain a five game lead over the New York Yankees in the AL East.

Red Sox Pull Away Late

Leading 2-1 in the fifth inning, Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a solo home run off Cleveland’s Carlos Carrasco to extend Boston’s lead to 3-1.

The Red Sox would further extend their lead in the seventh when Nunez would hit a tow run double to score Sandy Leon and Bradley Jr.

Nunez would add a three-run home run in the eighth to give the Red Sox a commanding 9-1 lead.

The Red Sox and Indians continue their series on Wednesday, August 23 at 7 p.m.

The pitching matchup is Boston’s Drew Pomeranz against Cleveland’s Corey Kluber.
