King's 16 Points Leads Brown Over Johnson & Wales, 75-65

The Brown Bears men's basketball team (3-5) defeated in-state rival (3-1) Johnson & Wales 75-65 on Sunday evening at the Pizzitola Sports Center. After losing five games in a row, Brown has now won it's last two games.

Brown took control early in the game jumping out to a 19-11 lead and then a 30-19 lead. Brown led 39-31 at the half and put the game away from the free throw line down the stretch after Johnson & Wales cut their deficit to as low as five points.

Brown had four players in double figures in this game, led by Leland King ,who had 16 points off the bench for the Bears. Steven Spieth contributed 15 points while J.R. Hobbie went four of seven from beyond the arc for 13 points. Rafael Maia had a double-double in the game with 12 points and 16 rebounds. 

Tom Garrick led Johnson & Wales and all scorers with 29 points in the loss, Johnson & Wales first loss of the season. 

Next up for the Bears American University on Wednesday, December 3 at 7 p.m. before a visit from Bryant on Saturday,December 6. Both games will be at the PIzzitola Center. For tickets click here.
