NEW: Martinez Elected to Baseball Hall of Fame

Pedro Martinez has been elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Former Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez has been elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. 

In his seven seasons with the Red Sox, Martinez had a 117-37 record, with a career record of 219-100. Martinez also was awarded the Cy Young Award three times. In 1999 he won the America League's Triple Crown with 23 wins, a 2.07 ERA and 313 strikeouts.

Martinez will be inducted to the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY on July 26.
