NEW: Patriots Sign Tom Brady to 2-Year Contract Extension

The New England Patriots have signed Tom Brady to a two year extension, keeping him in New England through the 2019 season, according to reports. The details of the contract have not been released.

Brady is set to turn 39 in August and the extension will keep him in New England until he is 42 years old.

Under the remaining two years of his current contract, 5-years, $60 million signed in 2013, Brady is scheduled to cost the Patriots $15 million against the cap next season and $16 million in 2017.

The 2013 deal made him the most underpaid quarterback in the league.

Brady has helped lead the Patriots to 4 Super Bowl titles and 6 Super Bowl appearances since taking over the quarterback position in 2001.
