Patriots Place Left Tackle Isaiah Wynn on Injured Reserve

The New England Patriots have placed left tackle Isaiah Wynn on injured reserve, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

Wynn left Sunday’s game against the Dolphins with a foot injury, an MRI on Monday further showed that it is a toe injury.

Wynn will miss at least eight weeks, meaning the earliest he could play is November 17 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

This latest injury to Wynn comes after he missed all of his rookie season due to a torn Achilles.

Offensive Line in Flux

Since the midpoint of training camp and the preseason, the Patriots offensive line has taken numerous hits when it comes to health.

Starting center David Andrews will miss the entire season after being hospitalized with blood clots in August.

Right tackle Marcus Cannon missed the game against the Dolphins after suffering a shoulder injury in week one and now Wynn is out.

Patriots Add Depth

On Tuesday, the Patriots signed free agent offensive lineman Caleb Benenoch to add depth.

Benenoch started every game last season at right guard for Tampa Bay.

The Buccaneers released him last week.

This past week, New England signed offensive lineman Marshall Newhouse.

Newhouse saw plenty of reps against the Dolphins once Wynn went out.
