New England Patriots rookie wide receiver N’Keal Harry returned to practice on Tuesday at Gillette Stadium.

“He's been able to keep up with everything. It's just physically, he needs to be able to show that he can go out there and participate competitively and at the practice level that we're at. Hopefully, that's where he'll be, but we'll make our final evaluations on that before we put him out there,” said Patriots head coach Bill Belichick during his conference call on Monday.

Harry, who was placed on injured reserve back in September with an ankle injury, is eligible to practice this week, but not eligible to play in a game until week nine when the Patriots travel to Baltimore.

The Patriots now have 21 days to activate him to the 53-man roster or return him to the injured reserve list, which would end his season.

Harry with Patriots

New England selected Harry in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, but he has battled ankle and hamstring injuries throughout training camp and the preseason.

Harry played briefly in the Patriots first preseason game against Detroit, hauling in two catches before leaving with an injury.

Injured Reserve Reset

Harry’s attendance at practice means that he is one of two players that the Patriots can bring off of the injured reserve, according to NFL rules.

This means that the Patriots can only bring back one more player from the injured reserve list.

Players remaining on that list include fullback James Develin, kicker Stephen Gostkowski, fullback Jakob Johnson and left tackle Isaiah Wynn.

Both Wynn and Develin are eligible to return to practice in week nine, but can’t return to game action until week 11.
