The Providence College men’s basketball team lost six players to the transfer portal and has now signed four.

He comes to Providence from the University of Central Florida. Providence will be his third school. He played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Ball St.

Due to an injury, he only played three games in 2024-25.  In 2023-24, Sellers led UCF in scoring (524/15.9 ppg) as he scored in double-digits in 29 of the team's 33 games.  His 15.9 points per game average ranked fourth in the Big 12.

Sellers is the fourth signing by the Friars this week.

Vaaks Recruited

Providence also announced it signed Stefan Vaaks (Tabasalu, Estonia) to an athletic aid agreement to attend Providence in 2025-26.

Vaaks, a 6-6, 190-pound guard, will be a freshman in 2025-26.  He averaged 14.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.2 steals in the 2024 FIBA Europe Cup. Vaaks played internationally for BC Kalev/Carmo (Tallinn, Estonia) in the Latvia-Estonia Basketball League in 2024-25 and he averaged 15 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals.

"We came across film of Stefan Vaaks about a month ago," Providence College Head Coach Kim English said.  "The more we watched him, the more we were captivated with his savvy skill set and his bravery attacking the challenges the game of basketball presents. Upon getting to sit down with Stefan we quickly felt alignment with our staff in his seriousness about the game. We are really excited to get Stefan to Friartown. He has a big summer ahead competing in the prestigious Adidas Eurocamp in Treviso and the European Championships at the end of the summer representing his home country Estonia."
