Revolution Take 1st Place in East With Win Over Red Bulls

The New England Revolution (13-9-7) defeated the (13-8-6) New York Red Bulls 2-1 at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday night. The Revolution have now won six straight matches and move into first place in the Eastern Conference. 

With the match tied at one in the second half, New England's Kelyn Rowe scored off of a cross from Scott Caldwell in the 65th minute to give the Revolution a 2-1 lead. 

The Revs took the lead right from the start of the match when Diego Fagundez scored in the second minute to give New England a 1-0 advantage.

However, New York would answer back in the sixth minute in the form of Mike Grella who found the top right corner on a blast from the top of the box to tie the match. 

However, New York would not be able to tie the game for a second time. 

The Revolution return to action on Saturday, September 19 when they visit Montreal. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
