URI vs Stony Brook

Saturday’s game will mark the fifth all-time meeting between the two programs.

The Seawolves have won each of the last four meetings, including a 14-3 win last year.

URI Offense

Last week, the Rams offense put up 284 passing yards in their loss to Central Michigan.

Quarterback Tyler Harris threw for three touchdowns in the effort and will look to build on the momentum this week.

Harris’ top weapon last week was junior Marven Beauvais, who hauled in five passes for 106 yards and a touchdown.

"Establishing the ability to get the ball on the perimeter to some of our big receivers was the intent of our coaching staff, and they are achieving that,” said URI head coach Jim Fleming.

URI Defense

The Rams defense had four takeaways in their season opener last week with three fumble recoveries and an interception.

It was the most turnovers created by a URI team in 42 games dating back to 2013.

URI’s defense was also powered by Jose Duncan who recorded two sacks last week. It was the third time in his career that he has had at least two sacks in a game.

"Our success on defense starts up front. That's the first line of defense. If we tighten up the coverage a little bit, we probably have the opportunity for a few more sacks,” said Fleming.

Stony Brook

The Seawolves enter the game following a 31-17 loss on the road at South Florida last week.

Stony Brook had 229 yards of total offense in the game, while only giving up 186 passing yards.
