The Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce has named Monika P. Zuluaga, IOM as its next President and CEO, effective September 2, 2025.

Zuluaga, a Pawtucket resident, brings more than 17 years of leadership experience spanning chambers of commerce, Fortune 500 institutions, and private-sector business development. Most recently serving as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Membership at the Northern Rhode Island Chamber, she has been recognized for building strong member relationships, driving innovative programming, and championing pro-growth legislation across 13 municipalities.

The Chamber’s comprehensive search for a new president drew strong interest from a wide range of candidates across industries. After a rigorous screening process led by the Board of Directors Executive Committee, Zuluaga was selected for her proven leadership, strategic vision, and dedication to the Chamber’s mission.

“I am honored to step into this role and build upon the Chamber’s legacy of service,” said Zuluaga. “Northern Rhode Island is full of hardworking businesses and innovative leaders, and my focus will be to ensure they have the tools, connections, and advocacy they need to thrive.”

“Monika’s appointment reflects both her proven leadership and the Board’s confidence in her ability to guide the Chamber forward,” said Jen Morrison, Chair of the NRI Chamber Board of Directors and Senior Vice President & General Counsel at Amica. “Her vision for growth, coupled with her strong relationships across the region, make her the right leader at the right time.”

“I’ve witnessed Monika’s drive and commitment to the business community,” said Liz Catucci, current President and CEO. “She brings the unique combination of strategic insight and genuine care for our members, which will be invaluable as we continue to expand our impact.”

Zuluaga’s appointment marks a noteworthy milestone in Rhode Island’s chamber history and signals a period of renewed growth and impact for the organization. With a career dedicated to advancing businesses and fostering inclusive opportunities, she is well-positioned to guide the Northern Rhode Island Chamber toward greater innovation, stronger advocacy, and lasting community impact.
