United Way of RI Launching Executive Director Learning Series

The United Way of Rhode Island (UWRI) is set to launch a learning series for executive directors of area nonprofits. 

The series titled “Executive Director Learning Circle” is designed exclusively for executive directors who lead organizations with an annual budget less than $1 million. 

The learning circle will meet on the second Friday of each month, starting on February 10. The series will consist of 11 sessions, each held in the Conference Center of UWRI’s Providence headquarters at 50 Valley Street from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Through the Executive Director Learning Circle, participants will be exposed to competency topics, group discussions, and practical scenario sharing in the following areas:

  • Strategy Development and Implementation
  • Board Development and Engagement
  • Staffing and Alignment to Priorities
  • Comprehensive Fund Development
  • Risk Management/Emergency Preparedness, and more

 

The facilitator of the series is YMCA professional Michael Fournier.

Michael Fournier 

Fournier is a 30-year YMCA professional having served in senior leadership roles in Manchester, New Hampshire from 1987-1996, and in various senior roles with the YMCA of Greater Providence from 1996 to 2014. 

He has also provided volunteer consulting to a wide-range of grassroots nonprofits in Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts for over 20 years.
