Brown Bee Coffee is officially ready to open on Benefit Street in Providence.

In 2023, GoLocal first reported on the new coffee shop and bakery coming to the Fox Point area. 

Brown Bee Coffee was under construction at the corner of Benefit and Transit Streets, across from the Barker Playhouse, for the past year.

According to its announcement last year: 

Brown Bee Coffee will offer explicitly sourced fair-trade coffee. Our first custom roast is currently in the works. For the days that you can’t make it here, we will also have freshly roasted whole beans available for purchase, so you can enjoy Brown Bee Coffee from the comfort of your home.

Our menu is set in motion and almost ready. Brown Bee’s Executive Pastry Chefs will introduce you to their exquisite in-house baked goods. From classic loaves of bread to meticulously designed artisanal croissants, everything we serve is baked fresh and with love!

This week, Brown Bee Coffee held a soft opening for family and friends. 

The decor has a “scholarly” theme to it, with “card catalogs” as part of its interior design.
