The Study

To find out which cities had the largest sweet tooth, Infogroup used its verified business database of over 17 million records to measure the number of "sweet" retailers per city.

All 381 Metropolitan Statistical Areas in the U.S. (cities with a population of 50,000 or more) were ranked by their concentration of sweet tooth stores per 10,000 residents.

The study factored ice cream parlors, candy shops, doughnut stores, and bakeries into the analysis.
