The Beach Boys Appear Tonight at Twin River
Hints of summer are in the air this week on “5 Live,” as we span the musical spectrum from surf rock to jazz. Read on for the Top 5 area concerts this weekend and beyond.

Beach Boys at Twin River

It’s always a party when the Beach Boys are in town and tonight will be no different as the original boys of summer stop by the Twin River Events Center. Last year, we interviewed original member Mike Love, leader of the touring band, here – see what he has to say about one of the top selling groups in recording history. One guarantee – a good time will be had by all who attend! Tickets start at $40 for the 8PM show.

Arc Iris Plays Bowie

The Arc Iris residency at Aurora continues tonight with Week 3 of the Zoetical Festival. The band, who made our list of "15 to Watch in 2015"  has already put on two innovative performances and tonight will be no different as they lead a number of guest artists in a performance of David Bowie’s landmark 1970 masterpiece Hunky Dory. Death Vessel and Brian Webb open up the evening. Tickets are $10 at the door – music starts around 8PM

Record Store Day Tomorrow

It the most wonderful time of the year for vinyl fans as Record Store Day is upon us. Be sure to stop by your favorite record store for RSD exclusives and rarities. Check out a free in store performance tomorrow starting at 1:30 at What Cheer Records and Vintage on Thayer St in Providence.  Performers include Bob Kendall, Red Penny’s, Sleepyhead and Emma Rose. In Your Ear in Warren and Olympic Records in Providence also have special discounts tomorrow.

Smooth Jazz at the Park

Two Jazz supergroups share the bill Sunday night at Cranston’s Park Theatre. Spyro Gyra, one of the top selling Jazz fusion bands ever will be joined by Fourplay, a group that has released several critically acclaimed albums. Spyro Gyra has sold over 10 million albums and are best known for the 1979 hit “Morning Dance.” Both bands feature some of the best players in the business. Tickets start at $35 for the 7:30 show.

RI Music Hall Induction at Bovi’s

Monday night April 20th, its round one of the RI Music Hall of Fame 2015 induction ceremony. Monday’s event at Bovi’s Tavern in East Providence honors the Jazz artists being inducted this year. Those inductees include bandleader and drummer Duke Belaire (who began performing at Bovi's in 1969), trombonist George Masso and bass player Bob Petteruti. The John Allmark Orchestra hosts the event which begins with Induction Ceremonies at 7PM. Music begins around 9PM and tickets are available at the door for $7. Check back next week for details regarding the April 26th Induction ceremony at the Met.
