5 Live Music Musts: November 22, 2013

Check out Lisa Marie Presley when she performs at the Park Theater in Cranston on Saturday, November 23.
There’s no way to keep it to just five this week as some cool shows highlight a very busy local music scene…

Legendary Daughters – Shankar And Presley

First up, two great nights this weekend at the Park Theatre in Cranston. Tonight, Anoushka Shankar, sitar extraordinaire, and daughter of the late Ravi Shankar, performs with her band. Show is at 8PM -Tickets are still available here. Tomorrow, the talented Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of “The King,” is in town. Show starts at 7:30PM. Click here for tickets. For more on these artists, check our full preview yesterday on GoLocalProv.

Neil Young x2 + Dead Tribute

Tomorrow night, it’s a “Battle of the Neil Young Tribute Bands” here in RI. Yes, really. In Tiverton, Sandywoods has the award winning Forever Young, which includes several locals led by John Fuzak, Becky Chase, and Mark Cutler. Tickets are $15 – show starts at 7:30 PM. The Met has Neil for half the bill with Young Rust opening for the equally awesome Grateful Dead tribute act Shakedown. Show at 8:30 – Tickets $10. Depending on your road speed, it might be possible to hit both shows and still at least catch the encore at The Met. Either way, if there’s a NY fan left at home Saturday night, you better have a good excuse!
