David Bowie played in Providence at the Civic Center on May 5, 1978 as part of his Isolar II Tour. This was Bowie's only appearance at the Civic Center during his career. 

Bowie's set list on that night included some of his biggest hits such as "Heroes," "The Jean Genie," "Fame," and one of his greatest songs "Ziggy Stardust."

Bowie came out for a two song encore, in which he played "Stay," and "TVC15."
