The move marks the latest for Swift, who had re-recorded and released her first six albums in an attempt to regain control of her music.

"Swift lost the rights in 2019 after her first record label, Big Machine, sold them to record executive Scooter Braun. In a June 2019 Tumblr post, she called it the 'worst case scenario' and accused Braun of years of "incessant, manipulative bullying,'" reported NBC.

In May, Swift regained control over her entire body of work.

In a post to her official website, Swift announced, "All of the music I've ever made now belongs to me."

"I can't thank you enough for helping to reunite me with this art that I have dedicated my life to, but have never owned until now," Swift wrote in the post. "The best things that have ever been mine... finally actually are."

Swift said she purchased her catalogue of recordings — originally released through Big Machine Records — from their most recent owner, the private equity firm Shamrock Capital. She did not disclose the amount.
