About 30 Protesters Chant “From the River to the Sea” Outside Textron’s HQ on Monday
PHOTO: GoLocalAt about 11 AM on Monday, a small group of protesters marched and sang a series of protest songs in support of Palestine outside of Textron’s headquarters on Monday.
Some of the refrains included the chant “from the river to the sea" -- a refrain that is considered to be antisemitic.
“‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’ is an antisemitic slogan commonly featured in anti-Israel campaigns and chanted at demonstrations. This rallying cry has long been used by anti-Israel voices, including supporters of terrorist organizations such as Hamas and the PFLP, which seek Israel’s destruction through violent means.
It is fundamentally a call for a Palestinian state extending from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, territory that includes the State of Israel, which would mean the dismantling of the Jewish state.”
The protest comes just two days after Iran and related sponsored states launched more than 300 drones and missiles at civilian and military targets in Israel.
According to IDL and confirmed by U.S. military sources, 99% were intercepted and destroyed by U.S. and Israeli forces.
The group of protestors also voiced opposition to continued military support by the U.S. government to Israel.
Congress may consider a new aid package to Israel as early as this week.
