BREAKING: Trump Impeached by House — Again

In December 2019, Trump was impeached by the House for the first time — he is only the third President in American history to be impeached. He is the first to be impeached twice.
The vote was 232 for the impeachment including ten Republicans. There were 197 opposed who were all Republicans and four members of Congress did not vote.

Now, it appears the Senate won’t reconvene until at least January 19 — on the eve of President-Elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.
“Even as calls mount for President Donald Trump's swift removal from office in the aftermath of last week's assault on the U.S. Capitol, outgoing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell rebuffed his colleagues' push for an immediate impeachment trial during an emergency session,” reported Newsweek.
“News of the Kentucky Republican's decision to reject calls for a prompt trial surfaced Wednesday, before the House of Representatives' expected vote on an article of impeachment later that day,” Newsweek continued. “A spokesperson for McConnell reportedly confirmed his formal rejection in comments to multiple news outlets early Wednesday afternoon.”
Trump Calls for Peace
“President Trump urged the American public on Wednesday to refrain from violence ahead of President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration, again calling for a peaceful transition of power,” reported Axios.
“Why it matters,” Axios continued. “The statement was released as the House debated whether to impeach Trump for a second time, after the president was accused of inciting the pro-Trump mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol and left five dead last week.”
